Welcome to Numa Physical Therapy

Hi, I’m Dr. Cassidy Hing, PT, DPT.

Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to be a physical therapist. Growing up as a multi-sport athlete, I learned early on how deeply our sense of self and freedom are tied to how our bodies move. Driven by this connection, I earned a degree in psychology from UC Irvine before graduating with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2020. My background in psychology completely shapes how I practice today—reminding me that healing is always as much mental and emotional as it is physical.

In outpatient practice, I treated a broad spectrum of conditions—from persistent back and neck pain to high-level sports injuries and complex movement dysfunctions. Yet over time, my focus shifted toward a clear mission: women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapy.

Through specialized clinical training in birth preparation, postpartum recovery, and pelvic health, a frustrating reality became clear: women’s healthcare is historically under-researched and far too often minimized. I constantly see women ignoring disruptive symptoms—leaking, pelvic instability, heaviness, or pain with daily movement—because they’ve been told it’s "just normal after kids," dismissed by providers, or are simply too busy caring for everyone else.

I am here to change that narrative. Your discomfort is not a footnote, and you do not have to live with it.

What Recovery Looks Like Here

No two bodies are identical, and isolated exercises rarely solve complex issues. I view your body through an integrated lens, addressing both biomechanical efficiency and nervous system regulation:

  • The Four Foundational "Floors": True core stability relies on the harmonious interplay between your feet, pelvic floor, diaphragm, and neck/subocciput. We address these structural pillars together.

  • Nervous System & Mindset: Pain and dysfunction alter how your brain and body communicate. By combining advanced PT mechanics with a biopsychosocial approach, we calm stress responses and restore healthy movement signals.

  • Intentional Design & Restoration: I hold a deep belief that our bodies were created beautifully, intentionally, and systematically equipped to heal, recover, and thrive. My role is to help you listen to your body’s signals and guide it back to its original, intended way of functioning.

To truly honor the complexity of your health, I chose to step outside the boundaries of traditional clinics. Numa is entirely cash-based to eliminate restrictive insurance red tape, ensuring our time together is completely unhurried, focused, and customized to your life.

As a mobile practice, I bring premium, 1-on-1 care directly to your living room within a 30-mile radius of West Covina. In a doctor’s office, there can be an underlying pressure to perform. In your own home, you can drop the armor, feel safe, and focus entirely on your healing.

The Meaning Behind "Numa"

The name Numa is a play on the Greek word pneuma, which translates to breath, life, or spirit.

Biomechanically, I believe breath is the absolute foundation of our core and structural stability. But on a deeper level, breath is what gives us life. My approach to "holistic" care goes beyond standard biomechanics; it honors you physically, psychologically, and spiritually. Sometimes, the physical limitations we experience hit on things much deeper than our conscious understanding.

Whether we meet in your home today, or virtually online, my guiding vision remains the same: I want you to feel deeply known, truly seen, and completely worth investing in.
